PANTONE Work Experience
This is the map of the main high street in Sudbury which includes small cafes/restaurants, a church and a cafe.
The colours consist of mostly dull ones like grey, brown, cream colours and some green (from the trees)

Sudbury's Current Transport
In Sudbury, the current transport is Bus and Train.
Currently, Sudbury has no slogan so I will add a slogan that's not too long/complex and easy to remember.
Sudbury is a fairly busy area but not as busy as somewhere such as central London
Slogan Ideas
As of right now, Sudbury does not have a slogan, but some that I could use are:
"Where's London's Heart Beats" Very unique but it is not actually true
"Experience the Charm, Experience Sudbury" Too corny
"London's Hidden Gem" Too cliche
"A Breath of Fresh Air in the Marsh" Too long
"Sudbury, Where London's Great Again" Too long
"London's Best Kept Secret" Unique
"The Spirit of London" Boring
"Pocket of Perfection" Unique with alliteration but it is not true
"Sporty and Healthy" True because of the sports centre Vale Farm
"Oppidum Dulce Oppidum" which is Latin for "town sweet town", is similar to "home sweet home". This is the final one I am going to use.
Colour Scheme Ideas
Out of all these colour schemes, I decided to use this one because it was a lot brighter and also wasn't too complex:
Analysis of Other Logos / Slogans
This is the logo and colour scheme of Brighton. I chose this area because the colour scheme is very bright and colourful and they have a range of opportunities/jobs in the area like the city and university.
The slogan is "INTER UNDAS ET COLLES FLOREMUS" - The motto translated from Latin to English is “Between Downs and Sea We Flourish”.
Their logo is simple and effective and easy to recognise from a distance which is perfect for a logo.
This colour scheme is extremely unique - you don't see many areas using a wide selection of colours like this. However, some foreign places like Burano Island, Menton (France) and Falun (Sweden) have unique colour schemes similar to this.
Logo Sketch
After researching a lot of other logos of towns like Brighton, manchester, Leeds etc. I realised they were all very complex and hard to read from a distance. To solve this, I took inspiration from American sports teams which had much simpler and easy-to-recognise logos which is what I took inspiration from on the bottom left "ST" logo which stands for "Sudbury Town". This is very recognisable from a distance and the colour scheme can be implemented very easily and can be changed if needed.
I then recreated and developed the logo in Illustrator with the colour scheme I wanted. To make the crooked lines on the box I used the "distort --> roughen" tool with a low number.
Primary Research - Survey
To gather people's opinions of Sudbury and the work I have done on it, I made a Google form and sent it out to the class. The questions consisted of "What improvements do you want to see", "Do you think Sudbury is safe?", "Opinions on Sudbury?", "Ideal activities in Sudbury?", "Would you recommend Sudbury to anyone?". You can see these and the results of the questions in the screenshots below.
From all the responses, everyone liked the logo and colour scheme so I won't need to change much of my ideas.
Transport
As of right now, the transport in Sudbury is red single-decker and double-decker buses including the 18, 92, 182, 204, 245, 487, H17 and N18. However, the majority of the buses there are double-decker.
Because of the amount of people going past Sudbury in buses, we do not need single-decker buses but to improve the buses that are already there, the colour should be pastel yellow to match the colour scheme of the new Sudbury.
To change the colour of the bus, I used the "Replace Colour" option in Photoshop and adjusted the hue of the red parts on the bus
Evaluation
The Final Slogan I chose was "Oppidum Dulce Oppidum" which is Latin for "town sweet town", and is similar to "home sweet home". I really like this slogan because it's short and is similar to a popular phrase. It makes Sudbury feel warm and welcoming whilst also being a short and memorable slogan.
I am pleased with my final transport because it still matches the buses in the rest of London but just with another colour to show that they pass through Sudbury which makes Sudbury more recognisable and known.
The Final colour scheme I chose is appropriate for Sudbury because once again it makes the area more recognisable and unique, similar to the colourful houses in Brighton. I didn't choose the other ones because they were either too dull, too complex or too simple.
My Final logo is simplistic and matches the colour scheme I chose which is a lot different to other area's logos because they are very complicated and hard to read from a distance. By keeping two letters "ST" which stands for Sudbury Town, it makes it easy for people looking at the logo to tell what it says rather than having tons of other words around it.
